This weekend, the UK is set to have its hottest week yet as temperatures soar.

The ban means customers are prohibited from using hosepipes for things like watering a garden, filling a paddling pool, cleaning paths and patios or washing a car.

Can you use a watering can during a hosepipe ban?

The simple answer is yes.

Instead, they are being encouraged to use a watering can or bucket.

How do I know if there is a hosepipe ban?

Check with your water company to see if there is a hosepipe ban in force for your area.

Can you still use a hosepipe during a ban?

According to Gardener's World: "Even during a ban, the use of a hosepipe for some activities is still allowed. Do check your water company’s website for exact details of what each one permits, which is likely to include the watering of crops, recently planted trees and shrubs, and newly laid lawns.
