A comedy drama series has been cancelled by the BBC after two series.
The Power of Parker, created by Car Share’s Sian Gibson and set in the early 1990s in Stockport, will not return for a third series.
It first aired in 2023, with a second series coming last year.
Now, it has been confirmed it will not return, despite cliffhangers that closed the most recent series.

"There are no plans for a third series of The Power Of Parker," a BBC spokesperson said.
"We’d like to thank Paul Coleman, Sian Gibson and the team at Boffola Pictures for bringing the show to our screens."
The show followed Martin Parker, a flashy electrical store owner in Stockport whose life of success was a front for mounting debt and deception.
Gibson also starred as Kath, one of the women plotting his downfall.
The final episode left viewers with unresolved storylines, including detective Ash (played by Navin Chowdhry) discovering a photo of Parker fleeing an armed robbery at a factory run by his corrupt former boss Mic.
Parker, portrayed by Game of Thrones star Conleth Hill, also faced impending arrest for attempted murder.
Fans had hoped for a third series to see how the darker twists and criminal threats would be resolved.
"Losing any series will feel like a crime for its fans", a source told The Sun.
"But for the two million who watched The Power of Parker, its axe with so many loose ends is a major felony.
"The ratings just didn’t deliver enough bang for buck and it was decided the series would be chopped to make way for new formats."
BBC reveals casting for adaptation of classic novel
In other BBC news, casting has been revealed for an upcoming six-part adaptation of The Portrait of a Lady, based on the Henry James classic.
Nell Tiger Free, who appeared in Game of Thrones, is set to lead the cast as Isabel Archer, a "New World ingénue" who leaves America for Europe to experience a new life.
Other huge names in the cast include the Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning Bill Nighy, who has starred in a range of shows and films including Love Actually and Emma, who will be playing Mr Touchett and will be helping Isabel "in her quest for freedom".
Funny Woman’s Gemma Arterton will be playing Madame Merle and Jim Sturgess will be starring as Gilbert Osmond.
Miranda Richardson from The Last Anniversary and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be appearing as Mrs Touchett, Isabel’s aunt, who takes her to Europe to find a husband.
Filming for the show has already started and will be taking place across the UK, Croatia, and Hungary.
