Former Earlsfield ABC representatives Louis Adolphe and Kirk Garvey both recorded victories in their professional debuts at York Hall last week.
Tooting-born welterweight prospect Adolphe, 22, entertained the crowd throughout with a mixture of exceptional combinations and showboating, while dazzling his way to a convincing four-round 40-36 points victory over Arvydas Trizno from Lithuania.
“I made him easy but he wasn’t an easy opponent”, said Adolphe, who won the ABA light-welterweight title in 2012. “But he couldn’t deal with my speed.”
And Adolphe, who is promoted by Frank Warren, wanted to thank everyone who bought a ticket for his debut contest: “As well as being a fighter we are entertainers as well,” he added.
“With the people paying good money for their tickets I want to make it worth it for them. The clowning around is not cocky, its showing my appreciation for them.
“I rate my performance overall as a nine and a half out of ten.”
Clapham’s light-heavyweight prospect Garvey, 24, also made easy work during his 40-36 four round success over Lithuania‘s Vaidas Balciauskas.
“I knew that wouldn’t be a bother, I just wanted to get this person out of my way,” said the 2012 ABA light-heavyweight champion, who is also promoted by Frank Warren.
“I was a bit nervous at first being my first pro fight but I just wanted to make sure I got the win.”
