OLYMPIC women’s 100m finalist Jeanette Kwakye and Diversity dancer Warren Russell are among the star guests on show during the London Youth Games finale at Crystal Palace this weekend.

The pair lit the Games flame on Thursday ahead of the event that will see children from 45 schools from across London battle it out to claim the Jubilee Trophy for best performing borough.

Kwakye, the current British 60m record holder, is a former Youth Games competitor for Waltham Forest, while Russell turned out for Barking & Dagenham.

Fellow competition alumni four-time Winter Olympian Chemmy Alcott, Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi and ex-Olympic diver Blake Aldridge will also be on hand to lend their support.

Kingston, who are 18th in the standings, need a big performance over the weekend if they are to overhaul defending Jubilee Trophy champions and current leaders Wandsworth, who top the table with 898 points.

But near neighbours Richmond are well in the hunt as they are only 17 points adrtift of top spot.
