Harlequin’s centre Rachael Burford won’t be putting her feet up anytime soon despite recently being part of the victorious Six-Nations Grand Slam England squad.

Burford played her part in the feat on Saturday but already her attention has turned to domestic action as Quins look to lift the Tyrrell’s Premier 15s Trophy.

With two games left in the regular season, with potentially two more in the play-offs and title final, Burford says she and six-fellow Quins from England camp won’t be be resting on their laurels.

“Everyone has personal pride,” said Burford.

“If you’ve just come off the back of winning the Six Nations and you’ve been given the opportunity to wear the Red Rose, you want to show that your selection was justified- because you’re a good player and you deserve to be playing at the very elite level, and you do that by showing that week in week out at your club.

“What we did last week was brilliant and it was part of a hugely successful campaign but we need to switch our attention now as there’s another trophy that we want to go and win."

Quins currently sit second behind the side that pipped them to last year’s title, Saracens.

Two wins and a bonus point from the remaining two games will guarantee Quins a home-tie in the play-offs.

This Saturday at Surrey Sports Park they face off against DMP Sharks and then the regular season finale event against Gloucester-Hartpury at The Stoop, named ‘The Game Changer,’ on March 30.

“We are all excited and looking forward to playing for our club" added Burford.

“Everyone is buzzing and looking forward to this weekend to put us in good shape for 'The Game Changer.'

“Yes we may not have been playing or training as some of us were away on international duty in the last few months but we’ve kept very close contact with each other and we are straight back in the thick of it.

“We are all keen to get back playing, we’ve had a good run and want to keep that going.”

The Game Changer (kick-off: 14:00) is included in the 2018/19 Harlequins Membership but must be claimed beforehand. For non-members, tickets cost £10 for Adults and £5 for Juniors and can be purchased by calling the ticket office on 020 8410 6000 or by visiting tickets.quins.co.uk
