Mercer dash in Wimbledon parkrun

Mercer was the first of three runners to clock under 17 minutes, winning the event for the fifth time in 16:44 ahead of Serpentine’s Eion O’Connell (16:51) and Stragglers’ Wayne Smith (16:57).

Debutant Debbie Marsden of Westbury Harriers (18:33) was women’s winner ahead of Serpentine’s Liz Wynn (19:24) and unattached runner Libby Klugman (20:28).

Terry Eakin produced the best age-graded performance.
