A Josh Uzun double and first goal for Ben Senior gave the first team a 3-1 win over Horley Town.

It was Horley who struck first when Martin Smith opened the scoring on 12 minutes. A mix up in the middle of the park between Craig Hastings and Matt Tanton allowed the Horley forward away, and he fired low under Ollie Ellaway for 1-0.

Rovers thought they should have had a penalty on 17 minutes when Twum went down under pressure from Jack Poplett, but the appeals were waved away. Five minutes later though and Twum was pulled down, and this time a spot kick awarded. Josh Uzun fired the kick beyond George Hyde.

Rovers started to up the tempo, and a strike from distance by Jordan Gallagher on 26 minutes was well saved by Hyde. With ten minutes to the break Twum was also denied by a good save by Hyde, but the keeper reserved his best for a Callum MacLean free kick, turning it wide of the left hand post.

At the other end the lively Ayden Richards and Smith had been keeping the Rovers defence on their toes, but Ellaway was relatively untroubled in the Rovers goal.

There was little to write about in the opening fifteen minutes of the second half, but Rovers went close when Twum escaped down the left and his ball into Uzun was deflected over the bar.

Rovers took the lead for the first time on 70 minutes when a cross from the left by Tanton found substitute Phil Page, he chested the ball into Uzun's and he calmly fired under the advancing Hyde.

The win was effectively sealed on 77 minutes when a ball over the right back by Matt Farrell found Twum and he played a perfect low cross into substitute Ben Senior who guided the ball beyond Hyde for 3-1.
