Thomas Frank spoke of his pleasure with his side’s performance but not the result after Brentford’s 1-1 draw with Norwich.

Timm Klose header found the back of the net on 83 minutes for the visitors to cancel out Julian Jeanvier’s first half opener.

Undefeated in their last four, it was the New Year’s day’s first half performance that had Frank purring.

“It was a top, top performance,” said Frank.

“On and off the ball. Counters, we gave nothing away, we created opportunities. We were just so focused.

“We are growing, the team is growing, which is pleasing.

"We’re unbeaten over Christmas but I think we deserved more, but we managed to do what’s important in football, which is not concede easy and soft goals.”

Asked what has changed to turn the Bees’ fortunes around, Frank pointed to a change in mind-set.

“Worked massively on it, and hard.

“We are a young side and when everything is going well you can forget the other side. You don’t see the top teams not working hard.

Meeting and talks, as groups and individually.

“We get them to step up and talk in the dressing room because if the mind set isn’t bang on, nothing else matter.”

On the field, goal scorer Jeanvier seems to have put defensive frailties at ease at Griffin Park. Having started the last four games, the 26-year-old now looks un-droppable and the manager was equally as impressed in his commanding display as the majority of the home support.

“He’s added more than a bit of steel.

“He’s been brilliant. Every game he plays he gets better.

“It’s also the personality, he’s a lion, he’s a beast in there, his character and personality in the way he addresses messages and helps the younger players is spot on.”

Brentford welcome Oxford United in the FA Cup this weekend.
