Brentford’s first win at Griffin Park this season is not far away according to manager Thomas Frank.

Following their opening day defeat by Birmingham the Bees salvaged a 1-1 draw with Hull City thanks to an Ollie Watkins strike cancelling out Jarrod Bowen’s opener, but their first home victory still eludes Frank.

Showing glimpses of the side that put five past the Tigers last season, Frank admitted although it was disappointing to still be without a home win, he feels it’s a matter of time before they click into gear.

“It will come, we are confident it’ll come, I can’t see any reason why it shouldn’t,” he said.

“This game it was a disappointing first half without being a disaster, but it’s disappointing because everybody wants to hit the highs of the 5-1 win over them last time.

“You can only reproduce that three or four times a season, so on a day when you don’t hit you highest offensive level, because on a day we do that we win 3-1, but if we don’t we need that clean sheet.”

Bowen’s opener on 53 minutes came after Brentford failed to clear a corner, a cause of frustration for the Brentford boss.

Having been slipped in by a delightful Leonardo Da Silva Lopes pass, the forward drilled past a helpless David Raya.

“It’s a perfect pass but we were disorganised after the corner, it’s a bad goal to concede.

“But today we lacked that bit of everything clicking.

“We weren’t satisfied, because there were 10-15 bad touches, easy passes, throwing the ball away, wasting fantastic chances.

“But you will see in spells when we play high tempo we will create a lot of chances, but people know we are good at home, and going forward especially, and people make a plan to try and stop that, that’s why it isn’t easy.”

Brentford travel to Leeds United on Wednesday.
