Referee Andy Woolmer’s decision to award Brentford a penalty in Monday night’s derby angered more than just the Hoops boss.
Woolmer controversially pointed to the spot adjudging Josh Scowen to have fouled Bryan Mbeumo with the scores level at 1-1.
Said Benrahama went on to convert the penalty before Ollie Watkins sealed the tie in stoppage time as the R’s went in search for an equaliser.
Following the tie QPR manager Mark Warburton suggested the decision cost his side victory and that Mbeumo dived to get the decision.
Three points would’ve lifted the Hoops up to second in the league, but defeat means they stay eighth, with Brentford moving up to 12th, just two points behind their bitter rivals.
As the dust settled at Loftus Road and the West London bragging rights were marched back to Griffin Park, QPR fans were left frustrated and cheated by the controversial decision.
Blatant dive... Shame. #QPRBRE pic.twitter.com/yj4wXx1x61

For those interested, the referee is Andy 'Chuckles' Woolmer. A known failure of officiating that has been consistently bad at his job for many years but still given games by the @EFL. Read about more of his exploits here. https://t.co/YXZn19yXfr

Brentford deserved to win because they played better than we did. But, at 1-1 the penalty is a disgusting decision to give. It's a clear dive and allows them to sit back and soak up the pressure with their one goal lead. The game changes right there. Hard luck Rangers! #QPRBRE

@FA another piece of shit weasel referee who hasn't got a clue. No chance is that a penalty. When are you going to employ people who actually know just a little bit about the game. Fucking shambles #QPRBRE

Although there were plenty who saw past the penalty decision, claiming the Bees were the only side who looked like winning.

Didn’t deserve anything from the game but how that’s a penalty I’ll never know. #QPRBRE

Dodgy penalty aside, you cannot play that poorly and expect to come away with anything. Deserved win from Brentford and a lazy and (in parts) shambolic performance from us 💩 #QPRBRE
