"That is magic for me."

The words of Brentford manager Thomas Frank after their 3-1 victory over local rivals QPR, and he was not talking about any of the goals.

The Bees stormed to victory in the first half with spectacular goals from their 'BMW' front three, with Bryan Mbeumo, Said Benrahma, and Ollie Watkins coming up with the goals inside the opening 30 minutes.

It was an astonishing attacking display from Brentford, who are 3rd in the Championship table and are now six points of the automatic places following Leeds' defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

“For me, the best moment was one when we had eight players sprinting back when QPR cleared a corner," Frank explained.

"That is magic for me. I would have loved four or five-nil but still big respect to QPR going forward.

"I wanted more control in the second half but we weren’t under massive pressure. I think especially that we play nice, attractive, forward-thinking, football but the big factor is the defence is strong in high-pressure situations."

The victory was Brentford's 7th consecutive win at Griffin Park and Frank expressed his delight of winning the last ever West London Derby at the stadium but is staying tight-lipped on their promotion push.

"We are very pleased and we had a huddle in the dressing room afterward, a circle of trust, as this was the last derby at Griffin Park.

“I don’t want to hear about it [promotion]. I only want to think about our recovery for the next game. We try to create dreams and it makes the fan's week better but our job is to focus on the next game.

“We only know how to play 100% rock and roll and we lacked a little of that when they scored.”
