Ollie Watkins brushed off any transfer speculation as he outlined his sole aim this season is gaining promotion with Brentford.

The striker has been linked with a host a Premier League sides following his 18-goal haul this season but he admitted his head has not been turned by the talk surrounding him.

"When you score goals, it gets attention but I am loving it here at Brentford and hopefully we can do something special this year," Watkins said.

“There is going to be attention, but you just got to embrace it and keep going.

“Where would I go and play football every week and score goals and have a big chance of hopefully getting promoted?”

Brentford's BMW attacking force has been one of the talking points of this season having netted a total of 34 goals between them but Watkins believes there should be plaudits all over for the pitch.

“People are going to talk about us [front three] but they should be talking about Ethan [Pinnock] he is a rock at the back, David [Raya] who is an unbelievable young goalkeeper, we got Josh Dasilva – I could go on and on, we have so many good players who play well every week.

“There is going to be attention for all of us because we are playing well, but you just got to embrace it and keep going.

“There is no secret. We all just work hard on the training pitch, practice every day and it is all coming together.

“We are taking it game by game and seeing what happens."
