Mamadou Sakho has been nominated for Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award – despite only playing eight times.

Sakho has shored up the Eagles’ defence since joining on-loan from Liverpool in January.

He is currently crocked with a knee injury, but has an outside chance of playing in Palace’s relegation run-in.

Before straining his knee ligaments, the defender helped Sam Allardyce’s men keep four clean sheets in eight games.
