Tennis fever has been replaced with tennis nostalgia after the two-week Championships finished yesterday.

Because we're not quite ready to stop talking about the tennis, we've picked 10 highlights from the tournament.

What were yours?

1. When a tennis fan wrote an ode to the great British sport of....queuing.

Surbiton music teacher Conor Strachan, was so inspired by the quintissentially British sport, he wrote a poem about it.

2. When a 16-year-old ball boy was back to work the day after collapsing in the heat.

Robert Pitman, a pupil at Tiffin School in Kingston, collapsed on Court 17 as temperatures soared abover 35 degrees celsius.

But the dedicated ball boy proved his determination to complete his Championships' shift by returning to work the next day.

3. When Tony Finnan, of Haydons Road, Wimbledon, dyed his hair yellow and dressed up as a Slazenger tennis ball to promote black cabs outside Southfields Station.

Wandsworth Times:

He said: "You get people from all over the world. That's the beauty of the whole event. It's a pleasure to work here for two weeks."

4. When Southfields tennis star Laura Robson walked back on court after 18 months off with a wrist injury.

Wandsworth Times:

Despite a swift exit from the Championships, we saw glimpses of the brilliance that lifted her to 27th in the world prior to her injury.

5. When Serena Williams had to complain to the umpire because the crowd was too loudly backing Heather Watson to beat her in the semi-final.

Wandsworth Times:

The British player was at one time two points away from defeating the world number one.

Despite losing, she had the nation behind her. Andy Murray tweeted: “Retweet if @HeatherWatson92 just made you feel effing proud! Favourite if she made you feel really effing proud!”

6. Did anyone else enjoy two weeks' of localised weather updates?

Wandsworth Times:

7. When Lewis Hamilton proved the All England Lawn Tennis Club rules are not to be messed with.

Wandsworth Times:

He was forbidden entry into the Royal Box during the men's singles final for not dressing smartly enough.

The racing driver previously wrote on Instagram: "On my way to Wimbledon to watch the final! Honoured to have been invited to watch the men's finals from the Royal Box!"

8. When Sharapova told us how much she loved staying in Wimbledon Village.

Wandsworth Times:

The Russian superstar said she loves the team dinners and garden time you get from living in a home over staying in a hotel room.

9. And her boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov took to Instagram to show it’s not all about the tennis.

Wandsworth Times:

(He was out in round three after a straight-set defeat to Richard Gasquet.)

10. And finally...when Novak showed just how much he loves our town by eating its grass after defeating Federer in the men’s singles final.

Wandsworth Times:

The gluten-free world number one said: "I was assured it was gluten free, it's not processed, completely organic and natural and I could eat it. So I had no reaction.

"As I said on the court, when I was a child, dreaming of winning Wimbledon, it was something I always wanted to do in my celebration. I picked that. I hope people are not annoyed by that."
