A second Bidvest lorry has been photographed making a delivery in Putney High Street during the new banned hours.

The lorry was spotted around noon onThursday, January 28, breaking the ban on HGVs and vans stopping between 7am and 7pm Mondays to Saturdays.

It even appears that the lorry driver had already picked up a ticket when the delivery was ongoing.

A Subway spokesman said: "The Subway store on Putney High Street has recently been made aware of the restrictions to vans, lorries and HGVs from delivering to businesses on Putney High Street between 7am and 7pm from Monday to Saturday.

"The Subway brand supports the initiative to raise the air quality on the high street, and from Tuesday, February 2 the stores will be receiving its deliveries before 7am."

Since the ban came into force on January 11, Tesco lorries have been spotted twice, with one driver receiving a £130 fine.

Deputy leader Councillor Jonathan Cook said: "The vast majority of high street stores are complying with the new loading rules which is helping to reduce congestion through this narrow and busy high street.

"Unfortunately a small minority have broken the rules and have been hit by a combination of fines and very bad publicity.

"They should realise by now that the local community is watching this situation very closely and they will not get away with it."

Bidvest has been contacted for comment.
